Five German lines, priced in euros
Versandkosten (German for shipping costs) start at HooBuy's estimator. We queried it for Germany on 26 October 2026 at three weights, without box dimensions, and it listed five lines. The tags Insurance Available, Tax Free and Volumetric appear on every one, and euros here follow HooBuy's rate of ¥6.91.
| Line | Half kilo | One kilo | Two kilos | Listed days |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dhl europe package-f1 | €7.11 (¥49.10) | €14.21 (¥98.20) | €28.42 (¥196.40) | 10-15 |
| Germany special line | €7.82 (¥54.04) | €15.64 (¥108.08) | €31.28 (¥216.16) | 10-15 |
| Dhl europe package-d | €8.30 (¥57.34) | €16.59 (¥114.67) | €33.19 (¥229.34) | 12-17 |
| European air freight-m | €10.58 (¥73.12) | €21.16 (¥146.24) | €42.33 (¥292.48) | 10-15 |
| European air freight-t | €12.29 (¥84.95) | €24.59 (¥169.91) | €49.18 (¥339.82) | 15-20 |
Package-f1 is lowest at every weight; the Germany special line sits ¥9.88 higher at 1,000 g. The dearest, European air freight-t, costs ¥71.71 (€10.38) more than f1 per kilogram and lists 15-20 days. Prices doubled when weight doubled, so the quotes carry no first-weight step.
Start with DHL europe package-f1 unless you need a different tag or day range.
What the €3 duty and 19% VAT add
The Council of the EU's 11 February 2026 press release sets a temporary flat duty of €3 for each different tariff category in a consumer parcel worth up to €150 under IOSS (the EU's import one-stop shop). It replaced the €150 exemption on 1 July 2026 and runs to 1 July 2028. It is not €3 per item. German import VAT is 19% from the first euro. Whether the VAT base includes shipping and the €3 is not in our notes, so the example below shows both.
Expect €3 per category plus 19% VAT on top of the freight.
Example item price: a ¥350 jacket on f1, 1,000 g
The jacket is one tariff category and the price is an example; China domestic shipping and HooBuy's ¥8 declaration fee are left out.
Goods: ¥350 / 6.91 = €50.65. Freight: ¥98.20 / 6.91 = €14.21. Duty: 1 x €3 = €3.00.
VAT on goods only: 50.65 x 0.19 = €9.62, so the total is €77.48.
VAT on goods, freight and duty: (50.65 + 14.21 + 3.00) x 0.19 = 67.86 x 0.19 = €12.89, so the total is €80.75.
Duty and VAT add 19.46% to 24.50% to goods plus freight. A second tariff category in the same parcel would add another €3.
Budget about €77.48 to €80.75 landed for this jacket.
What "Tax Free" leaves unanswered
HooBuy does not say what the tag covers or how it handles the €3, and the help article that calls EU parcels up to €150 "usually exempt" no longer matches the rules. Its IOSS article says some routes apply fixed national rates to the declared value. If a second charge reaches your door, pay it and then claim it from HooBuy with the bill and proof of payment; HooBuy says it cannot rule that out. Declaring rules are on HooBuy tax ID and customs.
Ask HooBuy in writing who pays the €3 before you submit a parcel.
Days to Germany: 10-15 listed, 79% shown at 8-15
HooBuy lists 10-15 days for package-f1 and the special line, 12-17 for package-d and 15-20 for air freight-t. Its own chart for f1 shows 13.58% in 0-7 days, 79.21% in 8-15 and 7.21% in 16-25; the special line reads 13.78%, 80.28% and 5.94%. It is HooBuy's statistic and we did not verify it. Order-to-door timing is on HooBuy shipping time.
Plan for the listed 10-15 days after dispatch; HooBuy's own chart shows about one parcel in fourteen taking 16-25.
Volume: a boxed pair of shoes
A 33 x 22 x 13 cm shoebox is 9,438 cm³. Dividing by the estimator FAQ's 6,000 gives 1.57 kg; at 5,000 it is 1.89 kg and at 8,000 1.18 kg. If the shoes weigh 1 kg, f1 bills 1.57 kg, about ¥154.47 (€22.35) against ¥98.20, scaled linearly. The help centre names divisors between 5,000 and 8,000 and publishes no per-line list. Check sizes in the HooBuy shipping calculator.
Pack tight; a 1 kg shoebox bills 1.57 kg.
What to do while HooBuy is on Hold
Erfahrungen (German for experiences, the word searchers add to find reviews) lead to Trustpilot, where HooBuy shows 3.7 from 571 reviews and its five newest, 27 July to 15 September 2026, are one star. Buyers describe paid orders stuck at "Purchased"; we did not verify these individual reviews. Our status page puts HooBuy on Hold: pay for each order as you go and keep the HooBuy wallet empty.
To move a German-bound row, compare another agent at the same weight and ask whether its quote includes the €3. The HooBuy link converter rewrites the link, and HooBuy alternatives lists where. You can also message us the row from the contact page.
Hold means small orders and a second agent in mind.
What HooBuy buyers ask
What is the cheapest HooBuy line to Germany for a 2 kg parcel?
DHL europe package-f1 at ¥196.40 (€28.42 at HooBuy's rate of ¥6.91) for 2,000 g, read on 26 October 2026. Germany special line was ¥216.16 (€31.28) and European air freight-t ¥339.82 (€49.18). The same line cost ¥98.20 for 1,000 g, so price tracks weight. These were weight-only quotes before duty, VAT and any volumetric weight.
How much does the €3 duty add to a HooBuy parcel to Germany?
The EU's flat €3 applies per different tariff category in a parcel up to €150, not per item, from 1 July 2026. A one-category jacket costs €3 in duty. On our ¥350 example with f1 shipping, duty plus 19% VAT lands between €77.48 and €80.75, depending on whether VAT is charged on freight and duty.
Does 19% VAT apply to a cheap HooBuy order in Germany?
Yes, import VAT applies from the first euro, and HooBuy's help article calling parcels up to €150 "usually exempt" no longer matches the rules. On our ¥350 example jacket (€50.65) 19% is €9.62 if charged on goods alone. HooBuy's help centre does not say how its routes collect that VAT, so ask HooBuy in writing before you pay for the parcel.
Does Tax Free on a HooBuy line mean nothing is due in Germany?
No. HooBuy does not say what the tag covers, and the EU now charges €3 per tariff category plus VAT. HooBuy's IOSS article says it pays tax on your behalf on some routes but cannot guarantee against a second charge, which you can claim back with the bill and proof of payment. Whether it covers the €3 is not published.
How long does a HooBuy parcel take to reach Germany?
HooBuy lists 10-15 days for package-f1 after dispatch. Its own chart for that line gives 13.58% of parcels in 0-7 days, 79.21% in 8-15 and 7.21% in 16-25, with none slower. That is HooBuy's statistic and we did not verify it, and it does not include the days before dispatch.
Can a shoebox cost more than its weight suggests?
Yes. HooBuy bills the greater of actual and volumetric weight, and every German line is tagged Volumetric. A 33 x 22 x 13 cm box is 1.57 kg at a divisor of 6,000, so a 1 kg box on f1 would bill about ¥154.47 instead of ¥98.20. The help centre allows divisors from 5,000 to 8,000.
