An AliExpress row is a retailer row, outside HooBuy's three codes
AliExpress is a marketplace where many sellers list goods and ship to buyers abroad, and you check out on AliExpress. HooBuy's link format hoobuy.com/product/{0, 1 or 2}/{item ID} accepts 1688 (0), Taobao (1) and Weidian (2), and its help centre does not name AliExpress. We tested only a Weidian link on 26 October 2026, so we cannot say what an AliExpress link would do. We have no statement in our notes that any agent takes AliExpress links either.
So the honest answer for a planilha (the Portuguese word for spreadsheet) row pointing at AliExpress is to buy there. An agent would add a warehouse hop, usually 3 standard photos and a fee stack, for goods the seller already posts to you. The link converter is for rows that really are marketplace items.
Order AliExpress rows on AliExpress and use the agent only for rows from supported Chinese shops.
Brazil: the US$50 line matters more than the agent
Since 12 May 2026 the federal import tax is 0% up to US$50 for individuals buying through platforms certified in Remessa Conforme. From US$50.01 to US$3,000 it is 60% less a US$30 deduction through a certified platform; through one outside the programme it is 60% with no deduction, even under US$50. The US$50 counts product, shipping and insurance (Forbes Brasil, 4 September 2026). Three examples, all hypothetical totals:
| Order total | Certified platform | Platform outside the programme |
|---|---|---|
| US$45 | US$0.00 | 60% × 45 = US$27.00 |
| US$52 | 60% × 52 − 30 = US$1.20 | 60% × 52 = US$31.20 |
| US$120 | 60% × 120 − 30 = US$42.00 | 60% × 120 = US$72.00 |
ICMS, the state tax, is 17%–20% by state and is calculated "por dentro": R$100 at 17% is about R$20.48. We could not verify whether AliExpress or HooBuy is on the Receita Federal list, so look at the Receita Federal site before you pay, and never assume either is. HooBuy's Brazil help article still lists the older 20% rule. Parcels also need the recipient's CPF; HooBuy's app asks for a tax ID that matches the recipient's name exactly, and our customs and tax ID guide covers the field. Brazilian readers searching "hoobuy é confiável" can read is HooBuy legit.
Whether the platform is certified moves a US$52 order from US$1.20 to US$31.20.
Germany, Italy and France: a flat €3 per category
For parcels up to €150, the EU charges a temporary flat €3 per different tariff category from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2028, and import VAT from the first euro: Germany 19%, Italy 22%, France 20%. The Council of the EU announced the duty on 11 February 2026. HooBuy's EU lines carry a "Tax Free" tag, and its help centre does not say how the €3 is handled; its wording that EU parcels up to €150 are "usually exempt" is out of date. Direct from AliExpress or through an agent, the duty follows the goods.
Count tariff categories, not items, when you total an EU order.
Several sellers, several parcels: the one place an agent helps
An AliExpress cart can span sellers, each posting its own parcel; we hold no AliExpress figures on how often orders are combined. An agent helps when the goods come from Chinese shops it supports and all arrive at one warehouse. HooBuy's own illustration (GD-EMS to the USA) shows three items of 700 g, 1,100 g and 1,600 g costing ¥1,071 shipped separately and ¥645 combined at 3,400 g. At its rate of ¥6.04 per US$1 that is US$177.32 against US$106.79, a saving of US$70.53. It is an illustration on an expensive line, not a quote for yours.
The saving is real only for rows from supported shops. See HooBuy alternatives and the Temu page for the other direct-retailer cases. While HooBuy is on Hold (status), pay per order and start small. To avoid opening an agent account, send us the row through the contact page.
Combine parcels only for goods that really arrive at the same warehouse.
What HooBuy buyers ask
Does the Brazil US$50 limit include shipping on an AliExpress order?
Yes. According to Forbes Brasil on 4 September 2026, the US$50 figure covers product, shipping and insurance together. A US$45 item with US$7 delivery is US$52, so it falls in the 60% band less the US$30 deduction on a certified platform. State ICMS of 17%–20% comes on top, and it applies at every price.
Does the "VAT" tag on HooBuy's Brazil lines mean my taxes are paid?
We cannot say. HooBuy's estimator tags its Brazil lines Br-standard-f, Hoo-br-line-d and Hoo-electronic-t with "VAT", and nothing in its help centre explains the tag. Its Brazil article also still describes the older 20% rule, which ended on 12 May 2026. Treat the tag as unexplained and plan for the recipient to pay.
Is the taxa das blusinhas still 20%?
Not on certified platforms. The taxa das blusinhas, the "blouse tax", was a 20% import tax on parcels up to US$50. Since 12 May 2026 the federal rate is 0% up to US$50 on Remessa Conforme platforms and 60% elsewhere. The Senate approved the measure on 3 September 2026; check Receita Federal for what followed.
Can an agent cut the EU duty on several AliExpress parcels?
Only by grouping goods, and only up to a point. The flat €3 counts different tariff categories within one parcel of up to €150, so four categories in one parcel is €12, while one category split across several parcels can repeat the €3. A combined parcel above €150 falls outside the flat rate. Weigh that against the agent's fees.
Should AliExpress orders go in my HooBuy tracker?
Yes, with a column marking them direct. Keeping them beside agent rows lets you compare delivered totals, and the row tracker file on this site has the columns. Record the order number, the date paid, the checkout shipping and the customs paid, so you can see later whether the direct route really cost less.
