Finds from Telegram and Discord: a four-point check before you trust a channel's HooBuy row

Status and facts checked .

Short answer: A HooBuy find channel on Telegram or Discord is a feed of item links, and anything it posts can be checked in four steps: the post date, the item ID in the link, the live yuan price on the item page, and who is asking you to pay. HooBuy has an official Discord, but we found no official Telegram channel in its pages. Never pay a person in a chat; HooBuy's help centre lists cards, WeChat, Alipay and balance.

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card opens the product page there with every photo and the price; the set changes each month. Check HooBuy's Hold status before you pay for any of them.

What a find channel actually posts

Telegram and Discord are where many HooBuy spreadsheet rows start. A creator posts a photo, a price and a link, followers repost it, and a week later it sits in a sheet with no date. Searches such as "hoobuy telegram", "finds telegram" and "discord spreadsheet" point at the same thing: a feed of links without a record of when each was true.

A good post carries four facts you can test: when it went up, which marketplace and item ID are in the link, what price it claims, and what the poster wants from you. A weak one has a picture and the words "link in bio". The rest of this page is a method for turning the first kind into a row you can trust and the second into a skip.

The method does not depend on the channel's size or tone. A thousand members tell you the channel is popular, not that the Weidian listing behind its latest post still exists. If you want the broader context for sheets that circulate this way, start at the HooBuy spreadsheet home page, which covers status, shipping prices and moving a row.

Treat every channel post as an unverified lead, however many people liked it.

The four-point check: date, ID, live price, payer

Run these four in order. The first three take under two minutes per row.

Four checks for a HooBuy row seen in a channel
CheckHowRed flag
1. DateRead the post's timestamp, not the sheet's title; note it in your trackerNo date, or a repost of an older post
2. IDIn hoobuy.com/product/{0, 1, 2}/ID, the digit gives the marketplace: 0 = 1688, 1 = Taobao, 2 = WeidianAn ID that opens a different product, or no ID at all
3. Live priceOpen the item page and the original listing; compare yuan to yuanA dollar price with no yuan figure
4. PayerOrder and pay on hoobuy.com or the agent's own siteA request to pay a person, or to move to a private chat

Check 2 is the one people skip. The format reads hoobuy.com/product/{0, 1 or 2}/{item ID}; we tested it with a Weidian item on 26 October 2026; a Taobao link redirected to the login page when we were logged out, and we did not test 1688. The same ID is what lets you rebuild the original link, which our link converter does for HooBuy and other agents.

Date, ID, live price and payer: if any one fails, drop the row.

One row, walked through the check

Take a made-up post: a Telegram message dated this morning offers a Weidian jacket at "$9.50 / ¥68" with a HooBuy link ending /product/2/1234567890. We use that format because it matches the row in our downloadable tracker.

  1. Date. Copy the post's timestamp into your sheet's "Ordered on" or notes column. If the channel edited the post, note that too.
  2. ID. The 2 means Weidian. Rebuild weidian.com/item.html?itemID=1234567890 and confirm the seller page opens and the title matches the photo.
  3. Live price. HooBuy's page shows yuan and a dollar figure at ¥6.04 per US$1. If the listing says ¥68, that is 68 ÷ 6.04 = $11.26, not $9.50. The post's figure implies 68 ÷ 9.50 = ¥7.16 per dollar, a rate HooBuy does not use.
  4. Payer. Add the item on hoobuy.com and read the checkout total, seller freight included, before paying.

The mismatch is small and common. A sheet that quotes dollars from its own rate will always look cheaper than HooBuy's page. HooBuy's edit-price dialog lists reasons such as a purchasing discount, a negotiated price or a wrong price, and tells you to start from the normal price on the seller's page; a channel's "special price" is something to verify there, not assume. For cheaper rows, our cheap finds page shows how shipping can dominate.

The post said $9.50; HooBuy's rate makes the same ¥68 row $11.26.

Impersonation: copycat channels, domains and DMs

Any popular name draws copies. A channel called "Official HooBuy Finds" may be anyone, and a direct message from an "admin" who found your username is the oldest pattern there is. HooBuy's Ambassador Agreement bans promotional content that uses domain names similar to HooBuy's, which tells you lookalike domains are a recognised problem. We found no article in HooBuy's 95 describing staff who message customers first on Telegram.

Rule of thumb: HooBuy's domain is hoobuy.com and its support email is hello@hoobuy.com. Anything else that asks for your password, a card number or a transfer is not HooBuy until you have confirmed it on hoobuy.com itself.

Five signs of an impersonator:

  • Pressure to move to a private chat or another app.
  • A payment link outside hoobuy.com, or a bank or wallet transfer to a person.
  • A login page whose address differs by one letter from hoobuy.com.
  • Screenshots of "your order" that you never placed.
  • A request for your HooBuy password or a verification code.

HooBuy's help centre lists the payment methods it accepts: cards, WeChat, Alipay and an account balance, all handled on its site. A person asking for something else is outside that list. Also remember that a declined or disputed card payment locks a HooBuy account, so be careful with who you give a card to.

If anyone asks you to pay outside the HooBuy checkout, stop and verify on hoobuy.com.

The official Discord, and what it is for

HooBuy does have an official Discord. Its web app links to it, and its help centre names the Notices on the website and the official Discord as the places where shipping coupons are announced. We do not print the invite here, because invite links are the first thing copycats imitate; use the Discord link on HooBuy's contact page instead. The same applies to codes: a shipping coupon is announced by HooBuy, applied at parcel stage, and limited to one per parcel. Its help centre says coupons are tied to the account, non-transferable and not exchangeable for cash, so a coupon sold by a stranger runs against those rules.

What the Discord is not: a payment channel or proof of HooBuy's health. Our Hold label comes from Trustpilot and Reclame Aqui reports, not from how busy a server looks. The broader HooBuy Discord page covers what to expect there, and HooBuy coupons covers the rules.

Use the Discord link from hoobuy.com for notices; use the order page for money.

Who earns when you use a channel's link

Many find channels are affiliates, and HooBuy builds it in. Its item page has a Share button and states that the sharer earns commission on shipping paid through the shared link. The Ambassador scheme pays 4% (Enthusiast), 4.5% (Champion), 5% (MVP) or 5.5% (Elite) of an invitee's international shipping fee, plus 2% on second-level invitees and ¥10 per invitee who orders and receives a parcel.

There is nothing wrong with that, and it explains why a channel keeps posting rows. It also explains why you should read the reviews of a row as marketing unless they show a delivered parcel. The Ambassador Agreement also forbids luring users into a Discord or Telegram group with low-priced products and then delivering through the promoter's own purchasing route. If a channel does that, HooBuy's own rules treat it as improper. We never print invitation codes; HooBuy invitation code explains the rates and rules.

A channel can be useful and paid at once; judge the row, not the enthusiasm.

Keep a log, and keep it small while HooBuy is on Hold

Log what you check. Our free row tracker, hoobuy-row-tracker.csv, has columns for the item ID, the original and HooBuy links, a status and dates, so a channel's claim and your own findings sit side by side. The spreadsheet template page explains each column.

Then keep the money small. HooBuy is on Hold because reviewers described payments sitting at "Purchased" from June to September 2026. Settle order by order, start with one cheap row, and leave nothing in the account. If a row fails the four checks, or you prefer no agent login at all, the contact page shows how to pass us the row, paid per order.

A dated log beats a memory of what the channel said.

Channel questions we get from sheet readers

Does HooBuy have an official Telegram channel?

We found none. HooBuy's 95 help articles and the web app links we opened on 26 October 2026 name an official Discord community, the App Store, Google Play and a support email, hello@hoobuy.com, but no Telegram channel. A channel that claims to be official is therefore unverified. Check any claim against the contact page on hoobuy.com before you join or pay.

How do I tell if a channel's price is still live?

Open the item through HooBuy's link format, hoobuy.com/product/2/ID for Weidian, and read the yuan price on the page; HooBuy also shows a dollar figure at ¥6.04 per US$1. Then open the original marketplace listing and compare. A post saying ¥68 and $9.50 implies ¥7.16 per dollar, so ¥68 is really $11.26 at HooBuy's rate.

Can a Telegram or Discord admin take my payment directly?

Do not let them. HooBuy's help centre lists credit and debit cards, WeChat, Alipay and an account balance, all paid on its own site. It describes no payment to a person in a chat. A direct transfer leaves no order page and no refund route, and HooBuy's Hold label means paid-order evidence matters more, not less.

Do channel owners earn money from my HooBuy order?

Often they can. HooBuy's item page says shipping payments made through shared links generate commission for the sharer, and its Ambassador scheme pays 4% to 5.5% of an invitee's international shipping fee plus ¥10 per invitee who orders and receives a parcel. That does not make a row bad, but treat enthusiasm and "best" claims accordingly.

Is an old post worth checking at all?

Yes, but check the item, not the post. Our Hold label rests on complaints from June to September 2026, so a post from earlier says nothing about HooBuy's current state. What matters is whether the listing still exists. Sellers delete items, change sizes and move prices, and a post cannot tell you any of that.

What should I do if a channel link opens a different site?

Close it and do not log in. HooBuy's own domain is hoobuy.com, and its Ambassador Agreement bans promotional content that uses domain names similar to HooBuy's. Type hoobuy.com yourself, or paste the item ID into the link converter on this site. A lookalike page that asks for your password or a card is the one to report.
