Why a DHgate link does not fit HooBuy's link format
HooBuy product links carry one digit: hoobuy.com/product/{0, 1 or 2}/{item ID}, where 0 is 1688, 1 is Taobao and 2 is Weidian. There is no digit for DHgate. On 26 October 2026 we opened a Weidian item through that format; we did not try a DHgate link, and HooBuy's help centre never names DHgate. Its fee article lists Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Vipshop, Amazon, Dangdang, YHD.com and JD.com.
So a row that starts with dhgate.com is a retailer row. Our link converter only rebuilds links for marketplaces an agent buys from.
Treat a DHgate row as a direct purchase unless an agent's own page says it takes the link.
Where ordering on DHgate is simpler, and what an agent would add
DHgate is an online marketplace where independent sellers list goods and ship abroad: one checkout, one seller, one parcel. An agent changes each step. The right-hand column uses HooBuy; other agents publish different terms.

An agent earns its place by combining items from several Chinese shops into one inspected parcel. Inside one DHgate seller's order there is nothing to combine, and HooBuy's checks cover colour, size, large damage and stains, not fit.
For a single DHgate item, the direct route has fewer steps and fewer fees.
Customs: the same rules whether DHgate or an agent ships

The EU duty is per category, never per item. Trademark-infringing goods can be seized on either route, and HooBuy's help pages put that risk on the recipient. In Brazil, check the Receita Federal list of certified companies yourself, and read HooBuy customs and tax ID for the CPF field.
Customs rules follow the destination, so they cannot decide between DHgate and an agent.
The price test an agent route has to pass
Example: a 1,000 g parcel to Germany on HooBuy's DHL europe package-f1 line, weight only, no dimensions.
Line quote: ¥98.20 (€14.21 at HooBuy's rate of ¥6.91 per €1)
Declaration, generally: ¥8, so ¥98.20 + ¥8 = ¥106.20
¥106.20 / 6.91 = €15.37 before the item, domestic delivery, photos or any service fee
If DHgate's checkout shipping for the same weight is below about €15, the direct route wins before the agent charges anything else. Volumetric lines can bill more; the shipping calculator has the formula and shipping to Germany the other lines.
Add roughly €15 per kilogram before the item itself, then compare with DHgate's checkout.
If the row is really a Taobao or Weidian item
If the row's photos match a Taobao or Weidian listing, the item can go through an agent: take the marketplace and item ID, rebuild the original link, and check price and options. What HooBuy buyers ask
My sheet row is a DHgate link. Which agent do I move it to?
None of the agents in our notes states that it accepts DHgate links, so we cannot name one. HooBuy's link format has digits only for 1688, Taobao and Weidian. Check an agent's own list of supported sites before paying anything. If the row is a plain DHgate listing, ordering on DHgate itself is the simpler route, and you pay per order either way.
Does an agent give me QC photos of a DHgate order?
Only if the agent accepts the item at all. HooBuy, for example, usually provides 3 standard photos of different angles and charges ¥1 per detailed photo on the order form, which caps at 10 even though its help centre says 20. A seller posting straight to you never passes through that warehouse, so there are no warehouse photos.
Will customs treat a DHgate parcel differently from an agent parcel?
No. The US ended its duty-free threshold for all countries on 29 August 2025. The EU charges a flat €3 per tariff category for parcels up to €150 since 1 July 2026, plus VAT from the first euro. Brazil depends on whether the platform is certified in Remessa Conforme, which we could not verify for DHgate.
How do I know if routing through HooBuy beats DHgate's own shipping?
Compare totals. HooBuy's estimator quoted ¥98.20 (€14.21 at its rate) for 1,000 g to Germany on 26 October 2026, weight only, and its help centre lists a customs declaration cost of generally ¥8. If DHgate's checkout shows less for the same weight and country, the direct route is cheaper before any fee or photo extras.
Can a DHgate listing be the same product as a Taobao or Weidian row?
Sometimes a seller lists similar goods in several places, but we hold no evidence about DHgate sellers, so check the photos, size table and price yourself. If you find the matching Taobao or Weidian item, HooBuy's link codes work for it. Copy the item ID, rebuild the link, and compare the price in the new link before you pay.
