Searches for "Versandkosten" (German for shipping costs), "frais de livraison" (French) and "spedizione" (Italian) lead to one source: HooBuy's estimator, read on 26 October 2026 with a destination and weight only, no box size. Line prices for Brazil, the USA and the United Kingdom

Rates: ¥6.04 per US$1, ¥8.13 per £1. Brazil needs the recipient's tax ID, covered on HooBuy tax ID and CPF.

Volumetric weight: one 40×30×15 cm parcel, priced twice

HooBuy bills the greater of actual and volumetric weight on routes that use it [id 80]. The estimator FAQ divides volume in cm by 6,000; the help centre says 5,000 to 8,000 by carrier and publishes no per-line table.

Combining items: HooBuy's 1071 to 645 example, typo included

HooBuy's article uses a GD-EMS route to the USA: ¥205 for the first 500 g, ¥72 per further 500 g, ¥8 handling per parcel, and items of 700 g, 1,100 g and 1,600 g [id 82].

The article prints that formula as "= 672 RMB" and then states the total as 645; the arithmetic gives 645, so 672 looks like a slip. HooBuy also warns that parcels over 10 kg and many copies of one item look more commercial [id 68, 82]. Other charges are on HooBuy fees.

What "Tax Free" and "VAT" on a line mean

Lines to Germany, Italy, France, the USA and the UK carry "Tax Free"; the three Brazil lines carry "VAT". HooBuy does not say what either covers. "Tax Free" does not mean no tax at your door: from 1 July 2026 EU parcels up to €150 pay a flat €3 duty per tariff category, plus import VAT from the first euro (19% Germany, 22% Italy, 20% France). Limits that decide what can go in the box

Liquids and medicines should stay under 10% of a parcel's contents [id 69]. Bottled cosmetics need 100 ml or less per bottle and 200 ml in total [id 118]; the estimator FAQ says HooBuy "can try to send them" without responsibility for customs detention. HooBuy's estimator quoted ¥98.20 for 1,000 g to Germany on DHL europe package-f1 on 26 October 2026, or €14.21 at HooBuy's rate. The dearest, European air freight-t, was ¥169.91 (€24.59). These quotes were weight only, so a large box can cost more. Doubling the weight doubled the price, so 2,000 g on DHL f1 is ¥196.40 (€28.42).

What are HooBuy's Versandkosten to Germany compared with Italy?

Italy ran slightly higher on every line we read. DHL europe package-f1 to Italy was ¥99.00 (€14.33) for 1,000 g against ¥98.20 (€14.21) to Germany, and the Italy special line was ¥111.20 (€16.09) against ¥108.08 (€15.64). The gap is €0.89 on European air freight-m and €1.27 on air freight-t, so choose by days and tag.

Are HooBuy's frais de livraison to France cheaper than to Germany?

No. France was a little dearer: DHL europe package-f1 was ¥102.80 (€14.88) for 1,000 g against ¥98.20 (€14.21) to Germany. The France special line was ¥115.12 (€16.66). HooBuy lists 12-17 days for DHL f1 against 10-15 for Germany, so France is neither faster nor cheaper on the lines we compared.

HooBuy's estimator quoted ¥99.00 (€14.33) for 1,000 g to Italy on DHL europe package-f1 and ¥198.00 (€28.65) for 2,000 g on 26 October 2026. Prices rose in a straight line with weight for that weight-only query. HooBuy lists 11-16 days for the line, though HooBuy's own delivery chart, which we could not verify, shows 78% of Italy parcels on that line in the 8 to 15 day band.

Does HooBuy charge by volume instead of weight?

Its estimator FAQ divides length times width times height in centimetres by 6,000, while the help centre allows 5,000 to 8,000 by carrier. A 40×30×15 cm parcel is 3 kg at 6,000, so volume can matter more than weight.
