The two official HooBuy app listings compared, and why an APK file is not worth the risk

Status and facts checked .

Short answer: HooBuy's web app links to one iPhone listing (rated 4.7 from 27 ratings) and one Android listing, package com.hoobuy.android.app (rated 2.6 from 199 reviews, 100K+ downloads). Both name Levermore as developer, while HooBuy's website names HYPERLAB TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED. We read all of this on 26 October 2026. Install only from the App Store or Google Play, never from an APK mirror site.

The two HooBuy app listings, side by side

HooBuy's web app links to one store page per platform. The table shows what each page said when we read it on 26 October 2026. The ratings come from the stores, not from us, and the iPhone figure is from the US store.

An older Google Play package, com.hoobuy.hoobuyapp, returned "not found" on the same day. If a spreadsheet or video links to that name, the link is stale. HooBuy is on Hold on this site, so check an app against the website before you trust it with a payment.

One listing per platform, both titled "Hoobuy: Buy direct from China"; start from the link inside hoobuy.com.

Levermore Limited, HYPERLAB and a Hong Kong company: three names

The developer field is where a careful reader will stop. The stores say Levermore. HooBuy's website footer says HYPERLAB TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED, with a London address on Chase Side, and its registration agreement names the same company as operator. A help-centre article also lists a Hong Kong company, 香港金石為開貿易有限公司.

We found no page on hoobuy.com that connects the three. That does not show anything is wrong, since group companies often publish apps under a separate name, but it is a gap in what HooBuy discloses. We therefore state the difference plainly and attribute each name to the page where it appeared.

  • App stores: Levermore Limited (iOS), Levermore (Android).
  • Website footer and registration agreement: HYPERLAB TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED.
  • Help centre contact article: the Hong Kong company named above.

If the difference matters to you, ask in writing through the channels on our HooBuy support page and keep the reply. Our wider view of the company is on the is HooBuy legit page.

The developer name differs from the operator name, and HooBuy does not explain it.

What the ratings can and cannot tell you

The iPhone score of 4.7 rests on 27 ratings. The Android score of 2.6 rests on 199 reviews, about 7.4 times as many (199 divided by 27). A score from 27 ratings can move a lot with a few more votes, so it is a weaker signal than the Android figure, although the Android figure is low.

We did not record why Android reviewers gave low scores, so we will not guess. We can set the numbers beside two other HooBuy figures from the same day:

HooBuy rating figures, 26 October 2026
SourceScoreVolume
App Store (US)4.727 ratings
Google Play2.6199 reviews
Trustpilot3.7571 reviews
HooBuy's own site config4.5 (a display value)not stated

HooBuy's website code carries a Trustpilot value of 4.5, while the live Trustpilot page read 3.7. Trustpilot's 3.7 splits into 64% five-star and 29% one-star reviews, which is a polarised pattern. Complaints we read there from June to September 2026 are about paid orders stuck at "Purchased" and refunds not arriving; those are individual reviews we have not verified, and they concern orders, not the app itself.

Android 2.6 is the largest sample and the lowest score; an app rating says little about how your order is handled.

APK files and mirror sites: install from the stores only

Searches for "hoobuy apk" may lead to websites that host an installer file. We advise against all of them. We found no direct download on the HooBuy pages we read, and its web app points to Google Play. An installer from a third-party site cannot be checked against the developer, and the app will hold your login and delivery address.

The reasons are general, not HooBuy-specific:

  1. You cannot see who built the file. Google Play shows a developer and a package name; a mirror shows a filename.
  2. You cannot tell the version. An old copy may lack fixes, and a modified copy may ask for permissions the real app does not.
  3. You do not need it. The Google Play listing showed 100K+ downloads, and the iPhone app has no APK equivalent at all.

If Google Play does not show the app in your country, use the website at hoobuy.com in your phone browser instead. HooBuy presents the web version as its main service, and the HooBuy link converter works with it.

We link to no APK site and no browser add-on that changes HooBuy's pop-ups. Both can expose your account.

Official store or browser only; an APK from a mirror gives you nothing the store does not.

What the store text claims versus what HooBuy publishes elsewhere

The listing copy is marketing, written by HooBuy. We compared four claims with HooBuy's other pages from the same day. The listing also uses wording about the goods that we do not repeat.

Treat store-page claims as HooBuy's promises, not as measured results.

Using the app while HooBuy is on Hold

We did not install the app and assume it is the same service as the website, so the Hold advice applies unchanged: pay per order and pay for each parcel when you submit it. HooBuy's help pages describe paying into an account balance; we suggest paying per order instead, and on Hold that matters more.

  1. Open the store link from hoobuy.com. Check the title and the Levermore developer field.
  2. Start with one small order. Screenshot the order page and the payment confirmation.
  3. Compare the app quote with the estimator. The web estimator is at hoobuy.com/estimation.
  4. Keep spreadsheet rows portable. A row built on HooBuy's link format can be moved; see HooBuy alternatives.

If you would rather skip an agent app, send us the row on WhatsApp (see the contact page) and pay per order. New rows start at the HooBuy spreadsheet home page.

The app changes how you click, not the risk; keep the first order small and the screenshots complete.

What HooBuy buyers ask

Is there an official HooBuy app for iPhone?

Yes, HooBuy's web app links to an App Store listing, id6738037179, titled "Hoobuy: Buy direct from China". We read it on 26 October 2026: developer Levermore Limited, rated 4.7 from 27 ratings in the US store, age 4+, 122.2 MB, iPhone only. Open the link from hoobuy.com rather than searching, since the app name is short and easy to imitate.

Where do I download the HooBuy app for Android?

Use Google Play and the package com.hoobuy.android.app, the one HooBuy's web app links to. On 26 October 2026 it showed 2.6 stars from 199 reviews and 100K+ downloads, with the developer shown as Levermore. An older package, com.hoobuy.hoobuyapp, returned not found, so a link pointing to it is out of date.

Why does the HooBuy app say Levermore and not HooBuy?

The developer field shows Levermore Limited on iOS and Levermore on Google Play, while hoobuy.com's footer names HYPERLAB TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED in London. HooBuy's help centre names a third company in Hong Kong. We found no HooBuy page explaining how the three relate, so we report the difference and cannot say more.

Is it safe to install a HooBuy APK from another website?

We advise against it. An APK from a mirror site bypasses Google Play's checks, and we found no direct download on the HooBuy pages we read. You also cannot verify who built the file or which version it is. The Google Play listing already has 100K+ installs, so the official route is in use.

Does the app have different prices from the website?

We could not verify that. HooBuy's pages publish no separate app price list, and its listing text says only that its "AI system reduces shipping fees by 15%+", which is HooBuy's own claim. The estimator on hoobuy.com quoted ¥98.20 (€14.21 at HooBuy's rate) for 1,000 g to Germany on 26 October 2026. Compare any app quote with that.

Can I pay with PayPal in the HooBuy app?

HooBuy's store listing says you can pay securely via PayPal or credit card, which is its own claim. Its help centre never mentions PayPal and lists cards, WeChat, Alipay and balance. Treat PayPal as unconfirmed until you see it at checkout, and pay per order, one small order first, because HooBuy is on Hold.
