EastMallBuy against a HooBuy row: what the agreement says
If you hold a HooBuy sheet and want to keep the same row, EastMallBuy is one of the agents that can take it, since a row names only a marketplace listing. Which marketplaces EastMallBuy supports is not in our notes, so confirm yours is covered. Its service agreement, which we read on 6 October 2026, names a platform fee of 8% of the goods price and 8% of the shipping cost. It lists 90 days of storage and payment by PayPal, VISA, Alipay and UnionPay, and it has iOS and Android apps. On 26 October 2026 the site loaded as an app shell.
The same 8% pair sits in HooBuy's registration agreement, next to help articles that say purchasing carries no service fee. So the fee alone is no reason to leave HooBuy. The reason is on our HooBuy status page: the site works, yet reviewers describe orders frozen at Purchased and refunds that never arrived from June to September 2026.
EastMallBuy states the 8% openly; HooBuy states it too, but contradicts itself.
The 8% on one example order to Germany
The figures below use an example ¥180 hoodie. The shipping base is not EastMallBuy's own price, which we do not have. It borrows HooBuy's estimator reading of ¥98.20 for a 1,000 g parcel to Germany (DHL europe package-f1, 26 October 2026; weight only, no dimensions), and a bulky box can bill more.
Goods: ¥180.00 (example) = €26.05 at HooBuy's rate of ¥6.91 per €1
Shipping base: ¥98.20 = €14.21
8% of goods: 180 × 0.08 = ¥14.40
8% of shipping: 98.20 × 0.08 = ¥7.86
Fee total: ¥22.26 = €3.22
Before fee ¥278.20 (€40.26); with fee ¥300.46 (€43.48)
A ¥600 order would carry ¥48 on goods alone, about €6.95, so the percentage bites hardest on expensive rows. Germany adds 19% import VAT on top, plus the temporary €3 flat duty, charged per tariff category, that has covered parcels worth up to €150 since 1 July 2026.
Expect roughly €3 of fee on a €40 parcel; check whether the line you are quoted already includes it.

On paper the two are close; the difference is evidence, not terms.
Rebuilding the link without guessing

product/, which HooBuy uses for the marketplace: 1688 is 0, Taobao 1, Weidian 2. - Copy the item ID and rebuild the marketplace link.
- Paste the full marketplace link into EastMallBuy and compare title, price and options with the row.
A third-party converter output we read on 5 October 2026 shows EastMallBuy using eastmallbuy.com/index/item/index.html?url= followed by the encoded marketplace link. Move the marketplace link, never the HooBuy wrapper.
Eight reviews, the newest from November 2025
Trustpilot listed 3.4 stars from eight reviews on 5 October 2026, and the newest was dated 9 November 2025. That says little either way: HooBuy has 571 reviews and a run of one-star complaints from June to September 2026, while EastMallBuy's page has too little of either. The practical answer is the same: one small order, pay per order, screenshot the order page. If a new account is the sticking point, hand us the row via the contact page.
Thin evidence calls for a small test order, not a verdict.
When to stay with HooBuy, and when to move
Stay with HooBuy if the item is already stored there: nothing in its help centre describes moving stored goods to another agent, and the free window runs 90 days. Move only rows you have not paid for, and only if the fee you will actually pay is lower. Compare the open choices on our HooBuy alternatives page or the agent pages. How much does EastMallBuy's 8% add to a typical order?
On an example ¥180 hoodie (an example price) plus 1,000 g to Germany at the ¥98.20 HooBuy's estimator quoted on 26 October 2026, 8% of goods is ¥14.40 and 8% of shipping is ¥7.86. That is ¥22.26, or €3.22 at HooBuy's own rate of ¥6.91 per euro. EastMallBuy's own line price is not in our notes, so the shipping base is only a stand-in.
Is the 8% the same as the clause in HooBuy's agreement?
The percentages match but the pages do not. HooBuy's registration agreement states 8% of the purchase price and 8% of shipping, while two of its help articles say no service fee applies. EastMallBuy's service agreement states the 8% figures and we found no page contradicting them. Read the agreement before paying, and screenshot it on the day.
Can I trust EastMallBuy's reviews?
There are too few to judge. Trustpilot showed 3.4 stars from 8 reviews on 5 October 2026, the newest dated 9 November 2025. HooBuy's page showed 3.7 from 571 on 26 October 2026, so HooBuy has far more evidence, including recent complaints. With eight reviews, a small first order tells you more than the score does.
How long can items wait in EastMallBuy storage?
Its agreement gives 90 days of free storage, the same length as HooBuy's free window counted from the Stored status. Whether EastMallBuy sells extensions is not published in our notes. Plan the parcel well before day 90, and ask support in writing what happens to goods left there past that date.
Does a HooBuy link open on EastMallBuy?
No. A HooBuy link such as hoobuy.com/product/2/ plus an ID only opens inside HooBuy. Take the digit and ID out of it, rebuild the Weidian, Taobao or 1688 link, and paste that into EastMallBuy. A third-party converter lists an ?url= pattern for EastMallBuy, which we have not tested, so check the item page matches the row.
