What HooBuy publishes about Xianyu: nothing
On 26 October 2026 we searched HooBuy's 95 help-centre articles for "Xianyu", "Goofish", "闲鱼" and "second-hand". The first three returned no match, so HooBuy's position on Xianyu is not published.
| Search term | Help-centre result |
|---|---|
| Xianyu | No match: not published |
| Goofish | No match: not published |
| 闲鱼 | No match: not published |
| Second-hand | Listed as ineligible for the 5-day return and exchange guarantee |
The product link format gives the same signal. HooBuy's page address takes a platform code, 0 for 1688, 1 for Taobao and 2 for Weidian, then the item ID. We tested a Weidian item only. No code for Xianyu appeared, which is not proof that a pasted Xianyu link fails, but HooBuy has promised nothing. HooBuy is on Hold on this site, so an untested route deserves extra caution.
HooBuy publishes no Xianyu support; the one second-hand rule works against the buyer.
The one rule that names second-hand goods
HooBuy's 5-Day Return/Exchange Guarantee covers a request within 5 days (120 hours), counted from the hour after the status "Stocked in" or "Stored". The help centre then lists items that are ineligible, and second-hand products are among them, next to custom-made goods, underwear and food.
For ineligible items, the article says that after receiving your request HooBuy will negotiate with the seller, but the final result is subject to the seller's decision. On a second-hand marketplace the seller may be a private person, so a refusal is easy to imagine; this is our general expectation, not a HooBuy statement. HooBuy does not say what happens then.
Two further HooBuy rules matter for a used item:
- Refund requests after the 5 days: if QC images were already provided, the seller may refuse and no refund is issued; with no QC images, a full refund is issued regardless of the seller.
- Damage or defects found on an international parcel must be reported within 72 hours of receipt, with photos of the item, labels and packaging.
The full return picture, including fee tiers, is on our HooBuy refund rules page.
Plan on a second-hand purchase being final; the 5-day guarantee does not apply to it.
Checks for any second-hand row, before you pay
The checks below are our general advice, not HooBuy rules. Where a HooBuy rule applies, we name it.
- Open the original listing and screenshot it. Second-hand listings are often unique, so the item can vanish or change price after you paste the link. Save the title, price and seller name.
- Read the seller's description for condition words. Look for "used", "worn", "defect" and measurements. Ask for extra photos of seams, soles, labels or screens.
- Check the price against a new one. A used item priced close to a new row on the same platform is poor value once you add shipping.
- Order detailed QC photos. HooBuy's interface lists them at ¥1 each (the help centre says up to 20; the order form caps it at 10 per item).
- Add the QC video if wear matters. The interface shows ¥15 for one video per item.
- Pay per order and keep the first one small. Do not keep money in an agent wallet while HooBuy is on Hold.
To log them against a row, use the row tracker CSV.
Evidence before payment is your only protection, because the return route does not apply.
What HooBuy's QC covers on a used item
HooBuy's help centre says inspectors check colour, size, large damage, stains, model and version number. They do not check minor colour difference, thread details or actual fit. For electronics it says only appearance and accessories are checked, with no power-on test.
That is built for new stock. On a used item, the faults that matter most are wear, odour, small marks and function, and the standard checklist covers few of them. The help centre says HooBuy usually provides 3 standard photos from fixed angles (front, back, side or logo). It publishes no guaranteed number of free photos. Detailed photos and a video let you choose the angles yourself, which is the practical remedy.
| Option | Price | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Standard photos | Included, "usually 3" | Count not guaranteed |
| Detailed photo | ¥1 each | 10 per item in the order form |
| QC video | ¥15 | 1 per item |
More detail is on the HooBuy QC photos page.
Standard QC fits new goods; a used item needs extras that you choose.
Cancelling before shipping: your only exit
If the seller's photos look wrong before you pay, do not pay. After payment, HooBuy's help centre says an order at "Processing" is cancelled within 24 hours with a refund, and for "Purchased" orders the agent checks with the seller within 48 hours. It publishes no fee for cancelling after Purchased.
Out-of-stock handling matters for one-off items: HooBuy says that if you do not answer an out-of-stock message within 72 hours, the agent cancels. We expect a used item that sells to someone else would be cancelled the same way, though HooBuy does not say.
Reviewers on Trustpilot and Reclame Aqui describe refunds not arriving between June and September 2026, which we have not verified. A refund on a cancelled order is possible on paper; keep your screenshots.
Cancel before shipping if something is off; after that, the seller's goodwill decides.
A worked cost example for one used jacket
This uses an example price, not a real listing. A used jacket at ¥180 weighing 1,000 g, sent to Germany on DHL europe package-f1. HooBuy's estimator quoted ¥98.20 for 1,000 g on 26 October 2026, weight only, with no dimensions; volumetric lines can bill more. HooBuy's own rate is ¥6.91 per €1.
Item: ¥180 = €26.05 (180 / 6.91)
Four detailed photos: 4 x ¥1 = ¥4; one video: ¥15; total extras ¥19
Shipping, 1,000 g: ¥98.20
Total: 180 + 19 + 98.20 = ¥297.20 = €43.01 (297.20 / 6.91)
If the 8% clause in the registration agreement applies: 8% of 180 = ¥14.40 and 8% of 98.20 = ¥7.86, giving ¥319.46 = €46.23
The help-centre fee articles say there is no service fee, while the registration agreement states 8%, so both totals are shown. German buyers also face import VAT; see HooBuy to Germany.
Shipping is about a third of this total, and the item has no return behind it.
For Brazil: Xianyu rows, tax and Reclame Aqui
In Brazil the import tax on small foreign purchases is known as the "taxa das blusinhas" (Forbes Brasil's headline term). Forbes Brasil reported on 4 September 2026 that since 12 May 2026 purchases up to US$50 pay 0% federal tax only through platforms certified in Remessa Conforme, and 60% through uncertified ones. Whether HooBuy is certified is not verified. We found nothing saying a second-hand item changes that rule, and you will also need your CPF (tax ID) on the parcel.
Complaints about HooBuy are collected on Reclame Aqui, where it carries the label "Não Recomendada". Read our is HooBuy legit page for those figures, and the HooBuy to Brazil guide for line prices. To move a row to another agent instead, see HooBuy alternatives or the link converter. If you would rather not open an agent account for a one-off, send us the row on WhatsApp (see the contact page) and pay per order.
A Xianyu row in Brazil carries the usual tax questions plus untested agent support.
What HooBuy buyers ask
Does HooBuy support Xianyu links?
HooBuy has not published that it does. We searched its help centre, read on 26 October 2026, for Xianyu, Goofish and 闲鱼 and found no match. Its product link format covers three platform codes: 0 for 1688, 1 for Taobao and 2 for Weidian. A Xianyu link may or may not load; paste it and see what the order form accepts.
Can I return a second-hand item bought through HooBuy?
Probably not on HooBuy's terms. The help centre lists second-hand products among items ineligible for the 5-day return and exchange guarantee. For those items it says it will negotiate with the seller after your request, but the final result is subject to the seller's decision. Assume a second-hand purchase is final once the seller has been paid.
What does "hoobuy mais xianyu" mean?
It is a Portuguese-language search where "mais" means "plus", so the reader is asking about HooBuy together with Xianyu. We infer that it asks whether second-hand rows can go through HooBuy; we have no data on who searches it. The honest answer is that HooBuy publishes nothing, so any such order is untested territory that you should keep small.
Will QC photos protect me on a second-hand item?
They help but have limits. HooBuy's help centre says inspectors check colour, size, large damage, stains, model and version, and not minor colour difference, thread details or how the item fits. It usually provides 3 standard photos. Wear on a used item is exactly what those photos may not show, so order detailed photos at ¥1 each.
Is a second-hand item cheaper in the end?
Not automatically. International shipping is billed by weight, so a ¥180 used jacket weighing 1,000 g adds ¥98.20 on HooBuy's Germany DHL line, as quoted on 26 October 2026. That shipping is about 55% of the item price (98.20 divided by 180). A new item at a similar price may be easier to return.
Is it safe to pay for Xianyu rows on HooBuy right now?
Only per order and in small amounts. HooBuy is on Hold on this site: Trustpilot reviewers reported paid orders stuck at Purchased and refunds not arriving between June and September 2026, and HooBuy answered 0% of 30 Reclame Aqui complaints from 1 April to 30 September 2026. A one-off second-hand item has no return to fall back on.
