Amazon links in a spreadsheet: why HooBuy has no code for them and when buying direct costs less effort

Status and facts checked .

Short answer: No, an Amazon row cannot be pasted into HooBuy by its link format: HooBuy's product addresses carry only three codes, 0 for 1688, 1 for Taobao and 2 for Weidian. Amazon is a direct retailer that ships to you itself, so buying there is simpler than routing an order through a China agent. HooBuy is on Hold on this site, which is a further reason to keep Amazon rows out of it.

These product photos come from repbuysheet.com, which has 10,000+ products to choose from. Each card opens the product page there with every photo and the price; the set changes each month. Check HooBuy's Hold status before you pay for any of them.

What the HooBuy link format accepts, and where Amazon sits

HooBuy has no code for Amazon. The product address we opened on 26 October 2026 follows one pattern, hoobuy.com/product/{code}/{item ID}, and the code is a single digit for one of three Chinese marketplaces. Everything else, Amazon included, falls outside that pattern.

HooBuy product-link codes and what we tested, 26 October 2026
MarketplaceCodeWhat we saw
16880Not tested
Taobao1Redirected to the login page when logged out
Weidian2Item page opened with price, QC Photos tab and Purchase Record
AmazonNoneNo code exists in the format

A spreadsheet row that points to Amazon is therefore a retail link, not an agent row. The HooBuy link converter is built for Taobao, Weidian and 1688 addresses, not Amazon ones. The Taobao page shows what the supported side looks like.

Three codes, none of them Amazon; an Amazon row cannot be moved into HooBuy by link.

What HooBuy's own help pages say about Amazon

HooBuy's help centre mentions Amazon twice, and both mentions are thin. Article id 24 lists Amazon among the platforms with no purchasing service fee, next to Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Vipshop, Dangdang, YHD.com and JD.com. Article id 18 puts seller dispatch for JD and Amazon self-run stores at 0 to 1 days.

Neither says which Amazon site is meant or how to submit an item. The registration agreement (id 115) also states 8% of the goods price and 8% of shipping, which contradicts the no-fee line; our HooBuy fees page sets out both. We did not place an Amazon order.

The help centre names Amazon in passing; it gives no route, so do not rely on it.

One example priced both ways

Take a small item that appears on Amazon and also on a Chinese marketplace. The figures below are an example: the ¥120 item price and ¥10 seller-to-warehouse fee are made up, while the shipping line is HooBuy's estimator quote for 500 g to Germany on DHL europe package-f1 on 26 October 2026, weight only.

Agent route, example item to Germany

Item (example): ¥120.00
Seller to warehouse (example): ¥10.00
HooBuy line, 500 g: ¥49.10
Total: ¥179.10, which is €25.92 at HooBuy's own rate of ¥6.91 per €1
Import VAT, if charged at 19% on that whole sum: about €4.92

The line alone is €7.11 at HooBuy's rate. Amazon's own delivery cost for the same product, and the price it shows, we did not check, so the comparison is yours to finish. What you can see is the structure: the agent route adds a domestic leg, an international line, a wait of 10 to 15 days on that DHL line as listed, and import tax in the EU, which applies from the first euro. An Amazon order inside your market has none of those legs.

The agent route adds three costs that a direct order does not have; price Amazon first.

What an agent adds that Amazon does not

The case for HooBuy is the product, not the shop. If the same item exists only on a Chinese marketplace, an agent gives you three things a retailer does not: QC photos taken in its warehouse, one combined parcel, and a way to pay without a Chinese account. HooBuy's help centre says standard QC is usually 3 photos and that detailed photos cost ¥1 each, with a cap that differs between the help centre (20) and the order form (10).

None of that applies to an Amazon order. HooBuy's return rules also exclude goods from outside the Chinese mainland (id 7), so an overseas item would not be covered by its 5-day return guarantee anyway.

Use an agent for Chinese-marketplace items; use Amazon for items Amazon sells.

Hold status and Amazon rows

HooBuy is on Hold on this site. Its pages and estimator worked on 26 October 2026, but between June and September 2026 buyers on Trustpilot and Reclame Aqui reported paid orders stuck at "Purchased" and refunds not arriving, and HooBuy answered 0% of the 30 Reclame Aqui complaints from 1 April to 30 September 2026. Our status page has the dated evidence.

That matters here because an Amazon row gives you no reason to take the risk at all. If you still want the Chinese-marketplace version, pay per order, place one small order, and consider the open options on the alternatives page. The platforms hub shows which marketplaces each route covers. If you would rather not open an account while HooBuy is on Hold, send us the row through the contact page, and log each row in the row tracker. The HooBuy spreadsheet home page explains how rows are normally structured.

With HooBuy on Hold, an Amazon row is the easiest one to leave out of the plan.

What HooBuy buyers ask

Does HooBuy accept Amazon links?

Not through its product-link format. We read that format on 26 October 2026 as hoobuy.com/product/ followed by a code and an item ID, with 0 for 1688, 1 for Taobao and 2 for Weidian. Amazon has no code in it. HooBuy's help centre does name Amazon in a fee sentence, but it does not say which Amazon site or how to submit one.

Why does HooBuy's help page mention Amazon at all?

Article id 24 says there is no service fee for purchasing from Taobao, Tmall, 1688, Vipshop, Amazon, Dangdang, YHD.com and JD.com, and article id 18 gives dispatch of 0 to 1 days for JD and Amazon self-run stores. Neither says which Amazon store is meant. We did not test an Amazon order, so treat the mention as unconfirmed.

Is an Amazon spreadsheet row cheaper through an agent?

Usually not. A China agent adds the seller-to-warehouse leg, an international line and possibly import tax to an item that Amazon would deliver to your door. HooBuy's estimator quoted ¥49.10 (€7.11 at its rate) for 500 g to Germany on 26 October 2026 before any item cost. Compare that with Amazon's delivery line for the same product.

Can I return an Amazon item to HooBuy's warehouse?

We found nothing in HooBuy's help centre that describes accepting goods bought elsewhere, apart from its forwarding service, which takes parcels you send to its warehouse and charges international shipping plus clearance (ids 1077 and 1079). Forwarding has no insurance (id 110) and its service fee is not published. Send an Amazon order to your own address instead.

My Amazon row was in a Telegram sheet. What do I do?

Open the link on Amazon and check the seller, price and delivery country first. If the item ships to your country, buy it there under Amazon's own terms, which we did not read for this page. If you want the Chinese-marketplace version of the product, search Taobao or Weidian and move that link instead, using the converter.
