HipoBuy as a free-service backup for a HooBuy row
HipoBuy describes its service as free, lists 90 days of storage, accepts cards and PayPal and has an app. Its homepage loaded normally on 26 October 2026, so we label it Open, which is not an endorsement. A HooBuy row holds only a marketplace listing, so HipoBuy can in principle buy it; check that your marketplace is supported.
Why look at a second agent at all? Because HooBuy is on Hold: its pages loaded on 26 October 2026, but reviewers on two complaint sites tell of orders sitting at "Purchased" and refunds that did not come, June to September. See HooBuy status for dates. Move unpaid rows only, pay per order, and start with one small order.
Open and free-service on paper; it still needs a small first order.
The ¥10 declaration against HooBuy's ¥8
HipoBuy lists a customs declaration of about ¥10. HooBuy's help centre says the declaration is generally RMB 8, depending on the shipping method. Both are per parcel, so the number of parcels decides the gap. The sum below uses HooBuy's rate of ¥6.91 per euro.
One parcel: ¥10 − ¥8 = ¥2 = €0.29
Four parcels: 4 × ¥10 = ¥40 (€5.79) against 4 × ¥8 = ¥32 (€4.63)
Gap: ¥8 = €1.16
One combined parcel: ¥10 (€1.45) against ¥8 (€1.16)
The declaration is the smallest item on the bill. On HooBuy's side, its estimator gave ¥98.20 (€14.21) for a kilo to Germany and ¥102.80 (€14.88) to France on the same DHL europe package-f1 line (26 October 2026; weight only, no box size). What HipoBuy charges for those lines is unknown to us; run its calculator at the same weight before moving.
Fewer, fuller parcels save more than a ¥2 difference per declaration.
Germany and France: what to compare before moving
| Item | HooBuy | HipoBuy |
|---|---|---|
| Service fee | Two articles say none; the agreement says 8% | Free service |
| Declaration | Generally ¥8 | About ¥10 |
| Free storage | 90 days post-Stored | 90 days |
| QC photos | Usually 3; detailed ¥1 each | Listed as public (third party) |
| Payment | Cards, WeChat, Alipay | Cards, PayPal |
| Trustpilot | 3.7 from 571 | Score withdrawn, 761 reviews |
Import VAT is 19% in Germany and 20% in France whichever agent ships. Per the Council of the EU, parcels worth up to €150 have carried a temporary €3 flat duty per tariff category since 1 July 2026. HipoBuy's own handling of that duty is not published in our notes. Our HooBuy to Germany and HooBuy to France pages carry the HooBuy side. French buyers who search for avis (reviews) will find only a withdrawn score, as the table shows.
The terms are close; the unknowns are HipoBuy's lines and its missing score.
A withdrawn score with 761 reviews behind it
Trustpilot listed 761 reviews for HipoBuy on 6 October 2026 and no score. We do not know why a score is withdrawn and will not guess. Read the newest reviews yourself and look for repeated themes, as we did for HooBuy: its page shows a run of one-star reviews from June to September 2026 about orders stuck at "Purchased". A missing score is a gap in the evidence, not a warning on its own.
Judge HipoBuy on recent reviews and one small order, not on a number.
Moving the row without a verified link pattern
We could not verify a HipoBuy link format, so the move is manual. Take the digit and item ID out of the HooBuy link, write the marketplace's own link and give that to HipoBuy. Our HooBuy link converter covers the first step, and the move checklist keeps both links in one place.
If the item is already stored at HooBuy, leave it there: its help centre describes no transfer, and free storage lasts 90 days from the Stored status. For comparison, USFans has a fee page that conflicts with itself, and LoongBuy sat behind a block page on 26 October. The full list is on the alternatives page and the agents hub. Rather not register? Use the contact page to give us the row instead.
Rebuild the link by hand and match the price before paying.
What HooBuy buyers ask
Does HipoBuy charge anything on top of the item price?
Its own pages describe a free service with no agent fee, read on 6 October 2026, but they list a customs declaration of about ¥10 per parcel. So the cost is item price, domestic delivery, international shipping and that declaration. HooBuy's help centre gives generally ¥8 for the same step. A free label does not cover the lines you ship on, which we could not read.
What does the declaration gap add up to on a multi-parcel haul?
Per parcel the gap is ¥2, which is €0.29 at HooBuy's own rate of ¥6.91 per euro. Over four parcels HipoBuy's ¥40 against HooBuy's ¥32 gives ¥8, or €1.16. The declaration is charged per parcel, so shipping fewer, fuller parcels cuts the bill more than any choice of agent does.
What does HipoBuy's missing review score tell someone moving a HooBuy row?
Trustpilot listed 761 reviews for HipoBuy on 6 October 2026 but no score, which is how a withdrawn score looks. We do not know the reason and do not guess one. HooBuy's page showed 3.7 from 571 reviews on 26 October 2026. Without a score, read the recent individual reviews and keep your first order small.
Is PayPal among the payment options HipoBuy listed?
Its pages list cards and PayPal, read on 6 October 2026. HooBuy's help centre lists cards, WeChat and Alipay, and mentions PayPal only in its app-store text. Having PayPal does not remove the risk of leaving money in an agent account, so pay per order for each purchase and each parcel, and leave nothing sitting there afterwards.
Can a HooBuy link be rewritten into a HipoBuy address by hand?
We could not verify one, so we will not print a pattern. Take the marketplace and item ID out of the HooBuy link, where 0 is 1688, 1 is Taobao and 2 is Weidian, rebuild the original marketplace link and paste it into HipoBuy. Check that the title and price match the row before you pay for anything.
Are HipoBuy's QC photos really public?
A third-party table from 5 October 2026 lists its QC photos as public, meaning viewable without an account. We did not confirm this on its site. HooBuy's help centre says it usually provides 3 standard photos, with detailed photos at ¥1 each. Ask HipoBuy support before relying on any photo count for a decision.
