HooBuy was reachable and quoting prices on 26 October 2026, so "is HooBuy down" gets a plain no. Whether paid orders move is harder, and the evidence points both ways. Our label is Hold: pay per order, keep the first order small, leave nothing in a HooBuy balance.

The timeline supports "complaints about order handling since June", not "HooBuy has closed".

What "Purchased" should mean against HooBuy's own timings

"Purchased" is an order status that comes before "Shipped (Local)" in HooBuy's status list; the help centre does not define it further. HooBuy's items travel to its warehouse in Xiamen. The help centre gives enough timings to tell slow from stuck, though its articles do not always agree.

Adding it up: a Taobao or 1688 order paid in China business hours should have a seller dispatch inside 7 days, and HooBuy says it chases from day 4. Add the domestic leg (up to about 7 working days) and two to three weeks is a generous reading of its numbers (our arithmetic, not a HooBuy guarantee). Reviewers describe four weeks to two months at "Purchased". Editing a paid order also resets the processing clock [id 1558].

Past about two weeks at "Purchased" with no dispatch, you are outside HooBuy's own timings; ask in writing.

What to do with a stuck or unpaid order

1. Screenshot the order page with status, payment date, order number and amount.
2. Open a ticket and write the dates. State the payment date, the status and which of HooBuy's timings has passed. HooBuy lists hello@hoobuy.com as its support email.
3. Ask for a refund, not a withdrawal. HooBuy's own advice [id 37] is that refunds need no review. Its help centre gives 2–3 working days for Alipay or WeChat balances and 3–10 for an international credit card, processing included [id 62]; card refunds return to the card [id 57]. One Trustpilot reviewer says they escalated to HooBuy's payment processor for a chargeback; we have not verified that.
4. Know your dispute window before you need it. Card issuers and payment services set their own time limits, which we have not checked and which differ by provider. Look up yours now. HooBuy says a disputed or declined card payment locks the account and suspends orders, parcels and refunds [id 39], so dispute only after the ticket has failed.

The "Daily Order Limit Reached" dialog

People searching "daily order limit reached hoobuy" are usually looking at a pop-up in HooBuy's web app. We read the text on 26 October 2026 and cannot tell when HooBuy shows it. HooBuy's own words: "Due to a surge in orders, our warehouse is facing significant backlogs, which is a major challenge for us. To ensure service quality, we have set a daily limit on the number of orders that can be processed."

The dialog lists three measures: a free DHL or UPS upgrade for submitted packages where possible, HooBuy covering an outstanding shipping balance under 500 CNY, and a daily cap on orders processed. The daily limit is a capacity notice in HooBuy's words, not a closure notice.

"HooBuy faliu?" for readers in Brazil

"Faliu" is Portuguese for "went bankrupt" or "went bust", from the verb falir. Semrush shows about 30 searches a month in Brazil for "hoobuy faliu", all in the last two months. "HooBuy acabou" means "HooBuy is over". We cannot tell what prompts these searches; they are questions, not facts about the company.

The evidence we can date: the video above (5 Jun 2026) whose title says it is over while its description does not, and the Reclame Aqui record, where HooBuy is marked "Não Recomendada" with 30 complaints from 1 April to 30 September 2026, none answered. The most-cited problem is "Estorno do valor pago" (refund of the amount paid) at 21.62%, with withdrawals pending for months and refunds for cancelled orders, Pix included, unpaid. Against that, the site and estimator worked on 26 October 2026 and we found no closure notice.

Is HooBuy down right now?

Not when we checked it. On 26 October 2026 hoobuy.com loaded, the estimator returned live quotes for six countries and a Weidian item opened through HooBuy's link format. A page that loads says nothing about whether your paid order is moving, which is where the complaints sit. Check your own order page and ticket, not the homepage.

Why does my HooBuy order say Purchased for weeks?

HooBuy's help centre says Taobao and 1688 sellers dispatch within 3 to 7 days and that its agent follows up on day 4 if nothing has shipped. An order sitting at Purchased well beyond that is outside HooBuy's own timings. Several Trustpilot reviewers describe this, so open a ticket and screenshot the order page.

Did HooBuy close in 2026?

We found no closure announcement on HooBuy's site or in its help centre, and the site still worked on 26 October 2026. A YouTube title from 5 June 2026 declared 'acabou' (it is over), but its description does not confirm a closure. We treat closure as unconfirmed and keep the Hold label.

Should I withdraw my money or ask for a refund?

HooBuy's own help centre recommends a refund over a withdrawal because refunds need no review, while a withdrawal goes through customer service and takes 2 to 3 working days to the original payment account. Whichever route you use, screenshot the order page first, keep the ticket number and write down the date you asked.

Does a Daily Order Limit message mean HooBuy is shutting down?

No. The dialog text in HooBuy's web app blames a surge in orders and warehouse backlogs, and lists a daily cap on processed orders. That is a capacity message, not a closure notice, but HooBuy's own wording says the warehouse is backlogged, so slower handling is plausible; keep your first order small.
