A Temu row has no HooBuy code, and a cheap row has little to gain
Temu is an online marketplace with its own app and checkout. HooBuy's link format hoobuy.com/product/{0, 1 or 2}/{item ID} covers 1688 (0), Taobao (1) and Weidian (2), and its help centre does not name Temu. We tested only a Weidian link, on 26 October 2026. No agent in our notes states that it accepts Temu links, so a Temu row is a direct purchase.
Buying direct is simpler here for a plain reason: an agent adds a seller-to-warehouse leg, an international line and a declaration, which bite hardest on low-priced goods. See AliExpress for the same logic with Brazil's tax rules.

United States: no duty-free route, and HooBuy's line prices
The US duty-free $800 threshold ended on 2 May 2025 for goods from China and Hong Kong and on 29 August 2025 for all countries (CBP notice, 28 August 2025). HooBuy's help article still lists 800 USD, which is outdated. Its two US lines carry a "Tax Free" tag that its pages do not explain, so do not read it as "no duty".

HooBuy's own spread shows about 45% of US parcels at 0–7 days and 48% at 8–15 on the f line; that is its statistic, unverified. Both lines are tagged volumetric, so bulky parcels can price higher. Details are on shipping to the USA.
Expect roughly $27 per kilogram before the item, from HooBuy's cheaper US line.
The arithmetic of a cheap item
Example: ten small items of 50 g each, 500 g in total, to the United States
Line f: $13.52 / 10 items = $1.35 per item in international shipping
Add the declaration, generally ¥8 per HooBuy's help centre: ¥8 / 6.04 = $1.32 per parcel
$13.52 + $1.32 = $14.84 for the parcel, or $1.48 per item, before prices and fees
If the same ten items cost less than that to post on Temu, the direct route wins. Only if the items are unavailable direct does the line make sense. The shipping calculator adds the volume formula.
Shipping alone adds about $1.48 to each 50 g item on HooBuy's US line.
Germany and Brazil in short
EU parcels up to €150 carry a flat €3 per different tariff category from 1 July 2026 to 1 July 2028, plus VAT from the first euro (Germany 19%, Italy 22%, France 20%). Brazil charges 0% up to US$50 through Remessa Conforme platforms, 60% less a US$30 deduction above that, and 60% with no deduction outside the programme, plus ICMS of 17%–20%; we could not verify Temu's or HooBuy's status. HooBuy's EU lines are tagged "Tax Free", and its pages do not say how the €3 is handled. See customs and tax ID.
The same destination rules apply on either route.
What to do with the row
Log it as direct in your row tracker. If a matching Taobao or Weidian item exists, Weidian rows can move through an agent; HooBuy alternatives compares open ones, and HooBuy is on Hold (status), so pay per order and begin small. To avoid an agent account, send us the row through the contact page.
Keep Temu rows direct unless the item is worth the line.

What does HooBuy's US line cost for a few light items?
HooBuy's estimator quoted $13.52 for 500 g, $27.04 for 1,000 g and $54.07 for 2,000 g on Us direct line small packet-f on 26 October 2026, weight only, at its rate of ¥6.04 per US$1. A parcel of ten 50 g items costs $1.35 per item in shipping before the items, a declaration generally ¥8 and any fee.
Did the end of the US duty-free threshold change Temu orders?
It changed every import. The $800 threshold ended for goods from China and Hong Kong on 2 May 2025 and for all countries on 29 August 2025, per a CBP notice dated 28 August 2025. What a platform collects at checkout is not in our notes, so read Temu's checkout before assuming duty is included.
Is a Temu item the same as a Taobao or Weidian row?
We cannot say. We hold no evidence about Temu listings, and a similar photo does not prove the same product. If you find a matching Taobao or Weidian item, HooBuy's link codes work for that listing: 1 for Taobao and 2 for Weidian. Compare the size table and price before you rely on the match.
Do I pay the EU duty on a small Temu order to Germany?
Probably yes, once. From 1 July 2026 the EU charges a flat €3 per different tariff category in parcels up to €150, until 1 July 2028, plus import VAT of 19% in Germany from the first euro. A cheap order in one category carries €3. How Temu handles collection is not in our notes.
Is it worth paying an agent for volume weight on bulky cheap items?
Rarely. HooBuy's estimator FAQ divides length × width × height in cm by 6,000 for most air cargo, and its help centre gives 5,000 to 8,000 by carrier. A light but bulky item can bill like a heavier one, so the agent line can exceed the item price. Use the calculator before moving any row.
